Tredway White Inc. Partners With Hendrix Hemp, LLC for Industrial Hemp Fiber Research and Development in Kentucky

June 18, 2015

Tredway White Inc., a newly licensed industrial hemp fiber processor, is proud to announce that they are partnering with Hendrix Hemp, LLC and their CEO and Founder, Josh Hendrix, a newly licensed hemp producer through the Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s 2015 Industrial Hemp Pilot Research Program, for the research and development of hemp for fiber in Kentucky.

As part of their mission to develop the sustainable fiber and textile markets in the United States, Tredway White planted their first industrial hemp crop on Mayflower Farm in Mount Sterling, KY earlier this month. Managed by Josh Hendrix, Mayflower Farm will continue to plant additional acreage over the next few weeks and will study different soil preparation, planting, cultivating, and harvesting techniques for the crop throughout the growing season. “Industrial Hemp is a living material,” says Tatianna Gildersleeve, CEO and Founder of Tredway White. “If this fiber has no future in this country than no fiber does. It is one of humanities most ancient fibers and we owe it to our children and indeed our nation to cultivate this noblest of crops.”

“With the first American flag stitched from hemp cloth, this fiber is the very fabric of our nations union. From General George Washington’s request of Betsy Ross to create that flag, to the 114 th Congress bi-partisan initiative helmed by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to liberate industrial hemp from the lexicon of controlled substances nearly 240 years later, hemp continues to unite America, ” states Tatianna Gildersleeve, CEO and Founder of Tredway White.

“It is an honor for me to be working with such a forward thinking organization like Tredway White to develop a model that supports hemp production for fiber in America starting here in Kentucky,” says Josh Hendrix, CEO and Founder of Hendrix Hemp and licensed industrial hemp producer.

“Their vision for hemp in America is unmatched when it comes to fiber production and processing and I could not be happier to be working with Tatianna and her team to make this a reality for all Kentuckians and hopefully one day all Americans.”
